Overview
Specification Sales Manager – Architectural Aluminium Systems. Field sales position covering London and the South East. Based within one hour of central London by train.
Remuneration: £55,000-£65,000 Neg. + up to 40% Bonus. Benefits include fully expensed EV or car allowance + full benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of commercial aluminium systems including curtain walling, windows & doors, profiles and facades.
* 90% focus on winning specifications with architects, building surveyors, local authorities, housebuilder developers, main contractors and façade consultants.
* 10% of time managing existing relationships with aluminium fabricators in the area, handling technical enquiries, etc.
* Inheriting a project pipeline of circa £10m (typical conversion around 25%).
* Work in a team of three field sales specification professionals covering the London market.
* Responsible for growing the area from £5m to £6m.
* Average project size circa £100,000-£300,000 material values; range £20,000 - £1m+.
* Responsible for circa 100 live projects at any one time.
* Project bank will be a mix of residential, office blocks, high rise residential, student accommodation (all new build) and education (approx. 60% refurbishment, 40% new build).
* Four days a week on the road selling, one day working from home.
* Provide great technical support to clients.
Ideal qualifications
* Proven track record in technical specification sales, ideally with experience at an aluminium systems house.
* Experience selling technical building envelope products such as glass, cladding, aluminium systems, rainscreen, curtain walling, roofing, facades, etc.
* Open to subcontracting, estimating and design backgrounds seeking a first specification field sales role.
* Specification field sales experience with architects, local authorities, building surveyors, housebuilder developers, main contractors or façade consultants.
* An appreciation of value engineering.
* Ideally a mix of refurbishment and new build project experience.
* Tender writing experience.
* Organised with the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
