Teacher of Music – Full Time
Location: Redcar, North YorkshireStart Date: September 2026 (or sooner if available)Contract: PermanentSalary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Music to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school community in the Redcar area. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and curriculum need.
You will be responsible for inspiring students through a broad and ambitious Music curriculum, developing both practical performance skills and theoretical understanding, while fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation of music.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)
* Teach a range of musical disciplines including performance, composition, and theory
* Lead and contribute to extracurricular music provision (e.g. choir, bands, performances)
* Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise attainment
* Support whole-school initiatives to improve student engagement and enrichment
* Contribute to curriculum development within the Performing Arts faculty
About You
We are looking for a teacher who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Has a strong subject knowledge in Music
* Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities
* Is confident in delivering practical and theory-based Music lessons
* Has excellent classroom management skills
* Is committed to raising achievement and widening participation in the arts

Location Context
The role is based in the Redcar area of the North East, within easy reach of surrounding areas including Middlesbrough, Guisborough, and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
