We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis (annualised hours) based atLymington Adult Skills Centre situated in Lymington Community Centre, New Street, Lymington SO41 9BQ. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £24,617 per annum, pro rata.

Working hours: 760 annualised Hours. Mainly term time Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 09:00am – 16:00pm but with occasional evening and holiday cover.

About the role:

As an Administrator at Lymington,you will provide administrative support for the Lymington Adult Learning and Skills Centre.

You may be required to support and work at other locations.

Responsibilities as our Administrator at Lymington will include:

* The provision of administrative support to ensure the efficient running of Adult Learning and Skills (ALS) leisure courses
* Answering enquires about courses, advising suitability and availability of places. Where appropriate, referring the enquiry to another Centre or to the College
* Taking enrolments and payments from students in person or over the telephone via PDQ machine or cash. Accurately recording the transactions and cashing up at the end of each day
* Ensuring the provision of courteous assistance to students, staff and visitors, whether by telephone or in person
* Assisting with the requisitioning of stationery and other equipment, ensuring that adequate stocks are held
* Undertaking general office duties, including filing and providing a photocopying service for Centre tutors and students
* Updating and inputting students on ALS leisure courses on to the EBS database
* Checking registers are completed and up to date, collecting schemes of work and learning aims from tutors
* Maintenance of student, staff and financial records, including collection and preparation of data for statistical purposes
* Assist with tutor and model pay claims. Reconciliation of petty cash as required.
* Assist with compiling adult leisure brochure.
* Replying to enquiries for prospectus and general course enquiries, by email and over the counter
* Attending and assisting at training events and staff meetings as required
* Undertaking any other such duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, that may be allocated from time to time

As our Administrator at Lymington, you'll ideally have:

* Experience interacting with the general public and assisting a range of different people with diverse needs
* GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Competent computer skills – able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet for information retrieval
* Able to demonstrate customer care skills
* Ability to work well as part of a team
* Ability to build a rapport with customers of all kinds
* Friendly and welcoming manner
* Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
* Able to work under pressure and prioritise appropriately without supervision
* Flexibility to cover the centre office during the daytime and evenings at times due to additional workshops or sickness/holiday cover
