A long-established and respected legal services provider in the East Midlands, specialising in Criminal Law, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law, and Community Care, is seeking to recruit a dedicated Legal Administrator to join their busy Criminal Law department based in Nottingham City Centre.
This opportunity is ideal for an organised and detail-focused administrator with a proactive approach and a strong interest in the legal sector. While previous experience as a legal administrator is preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Administrator include:
* Processing legal aid applications and amendments accurately and efficiently
* Managing online diaries for legal hearings, filing deadlines, and appointments
* Drafting basic legal documents and standard correspondence with precision
* Processing invoices in line with internal legal office procedures
* Monitoring and logging incoming legal and departmental communications
* Reconciling daily and weekly court lists against internal legal systems
* Chasing outstanding documentation to ensure legal records are complete
* Scheduling client appointments and internal legal meetings
* Liaising professionally with clients, courts, and external parties on legal matters
* Opening and closing physical case files according to legal office protocols
* Taking minutes during legal team or departmental meetings
* Highlighting hearings and meetings for appropriate allocation within the legal team
The ideal candidate for the Legal Administrator role will demonstrate:
* Exceptional organisational and administrative skills suited to a fast-paced legal environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to legal documentation and client interaction
* The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently as a reliable legal administrator
* Previous experience working as a legal administrator or in a legal setting is advantageous but not required
* Professionalism, confidence, and courtesy when handling sensitive legal and client communications
* Enthusiasm with a willingness to learn and develop as a legal administrator
