Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker – Theatres & Surgical Day Case Unit (SDCU) Weston General Hospital Are you an experienced Healthcare Support Worker looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Main Theatres and the Surgical Day Case Unit (SDCU) at Weston General Hospital. This is a unique and rewarding role where you’ll support patients at their most vulnerable – before, during, and after surgery. You will be required to work a range of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, to support the needs of the service. MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB: You will be working with a team of healthcare professionals caring for our patients in Main Theatres and SDCU. Your responsibilities will include
1. Patient support both physical and emotional
2. Preparing equipment and setting out instruments for surgery
3. Keeping theatres fully stocked
4. Unloading and moving equipment
5. Circulating duties during the operation including counting swabs or other instruments
6. Tidying up and cleaning after each case, disposing of waste correctly
7. Monitor and record patient's vital signs, reporting and escalating findings in a timely manner
8. Transferring patients to and from theatres
This is physically demanding role, where you will be helping to move patients on trolleys as well as on and off the operating table. You are also required to work on our DCU Ward and Theatre Receiving Unit. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship under the current Home Office guidelines.
