Shifts: 44 hours per week; 7am – 4pm Monday to Thursday. 7am – 1pm Friday.

Our customer is a leading UK and Ireland-based manufacturer and supplier of powertrain products. With expertise in engine overhauls, final drive overhauls, and locomotive refurbishment, they are a key player in the rail and engineering sectors.
Job Purpose
This role will report to the Fuel Shop Team Supervisor. The individual should be familiar with the operation principles of various kinds of diesel engines, fuel system components such as Fuel Pumps and Injectors. A strong mechanical understanding of diesel engine systems is essential.
Individuals will have experience of the following:
Installing, repairing, and inspecting fuel systems
Fuel Systems and Fuel System components
Troubleshooting engine testing issues
Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Calibration of components
Phasing of different types of fuel pumps,
Conducting bench tests and preparing reports
Installing, repairing, and inspecting fuel systems
Rail experience or Automotive
Key Responsibilities & Activities
Document all work activities and Total Performance Maintenance.
Troubleshoot Fuel System issues related to engine testing.
Install and repair fuel systems and parts of systems.
Inspect fuel systems.
Audit test equipment used for Fuel Pump/Injector testing.
Perform routine or preventive maintenance on fuel Pump/Injector test equipment.
Report results of Fuel Pump & Injector tests.
To undertake training as and when required.
To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.
To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities.
Adhere to a line managers’ written or verbal reasonable instruction.
Maintain a good level of attendance at work.
Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company’s ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification

Background & Experience:

Qualifications/Education Required:
* Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3.
* Previous experience in rail or automotive industry
