Role Purpose
This role plays a key part in supporting our underwriting team, providing high‑quality administrative and operational support that helps deliver a responsive and reliable service to members, brokers, and third parties. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate data, producing documentation promptly, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day underwriting operations. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to underwriting and marine insurance, while building strong organisational, systems, and stakeholder support skills in a collaborative and professional environment.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of member, vessel, and renewal data to support efficient underwriting and high service standards.
* Deliver end‑to‑end underwriting and policy documentation, managing reviews and approvals to ensure quality, compliance, and speed to market.
* Provide clear and reliable evidence of insurance and statutory documentation, enabling members to trade with confidence.
* Manage lifecycle documentation for new business, renewals, cancellations, and withdrawals, ensuring seamless communication with all relevant parties.
* Protect the organisation and its members by completing sanctions screening and compliance checks in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
* Act as a responsive point of contact for members, brokers, and third parties, providing timely and professional support on vessels, entries, and documentation.
* Support successful renewal outcomes by producing renewal statistics, updating terms, and issuing renewal documentation promptly.
* Coordinate the accurate submission of underwriting information and declarations to external bodies and counterparties.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Essential
* Educated to A-level or equivalent.
* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
* Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage varied workloads.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
* Previous experience in an administrative or underwriting support role.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Strong interpersonal skills and confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
* A willingness to learn and build knowledge within underwriting and marine insurance.
