Job Summary: The customer engineering team work with our sales teams and our customers to deliver engineered solutions for their pumping needs in a timely and commercially appropriate way. Using our understanding of peristaltic pumps, tube and controls we can help the customer optimise their process, application or product using a version of our product that is tailored to their specific need. You will enable the provision of sound technical information and engineered solutions to our customers whilst managing commercial, legal, and regulatory risks relevant to each opportunity. You will facilitate the manufacture and assembly of non-standard products so that they meet the quality and delivery expectations off the customer. As part of a fast-moving multi skilled commercial team, you will have the opportunity to see a project go from initial contact to completion in a short time scale and be involved in many of the supporting activities. Key Responsibilities: You’ll work closely with the customer’s engineering team and our sales engineers to understand the customer’s needs. You will deliver technical insights and tailored engineered solutions within cost and time constraints. You will understand peristaltic pumping principles and bring this knowledge into your proposals. You will action and record customer needs and understand compliance to appropriate standards. You will action product lead-time requests, pricing, and technical requests according to departmental processes. You will assess the commercial viability of any enquiry according to the Customer Engineering process. You will design, specify and source (with the procurement team) commercially viable, non-standard components. You will facilitate the support of an engineered product through its life cycle with timely communications of change outwards from the factory and inwards from the customer. You will represent the needs of the customer within the factory – particularly when issues may have an impact on deliveries. You will support the complaints engineer with investigations and advise on commercially appropriate corrective actions. You will produce drawings and or 3D CAD models when necessary. You will be adaptable and flexible – contributing to parallel projects as required. Skills/Experience: You will have an engineering (electrical or mechanical) qualification to HND, degree or equivalent. You will have experience in a customer-facing role You will have good communications skills that enable you to work in small ad-hoc project teams. You will be able to represent the business when engaging with customer project teams to assist them with the optimization of our pump in their system.
