Overview
Are you an experienced and proactive Health, Safety and Environment Advisor? The focus of this role is to foster a strong safety culture from within. You will work from Hull as a main site. You will need your own transport and a UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
As an experienced HS&E advisor you will provide practical advice and support to keep staff, visitors and contractors safe on the port sites. You will assist in the maintenance, development and continual improvement of a thriving safety culture, implement improvement and maintain robust HS&E standards, deliver continuous improvement programmes across the group and region, and work closely with operational teams, leadership and clients to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
* Plan, conduct, manage and report on audits, safety observations, compliance and continuous improvements.
* Assist in monthly H&S reports including data trends.
* Conduct risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
* Develop, implement, and review HSE policies and safe systems of work.
* Deliver training, toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Projects/Operations, Marine, Security and Operatives.
* Support sustainability initiatives and monitor environmental impact.
* Coach, mentor and influence stakeholders to create a sense of ownership.
* Be flexible and willing to travel to other sites, specifically Immingham.
Qualifications
* Recognised health and safety qualification (BSc NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ or equivalent).
* Solid understanding of HS&E legislation.
* Experience of updating, writing, managing and maintaining effective safety management systems/programmes.
* Understanding of behavioural safety concepts.
* Confidence with use of IT systems, e-learning platforms and software.
* Hold a current UK Driving Licence and be able to travel to ports within region.
* Proven experience in an HSE role.
* Experience implementing and maintaining environmental management systems ISO 14001 (preferred).
* Highly motivated and able to work well in a team environment and independently.
