Here at Elmwood Nursery, we are seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner to provide quality day care services and assist in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You’ll promote a stimulating environment of play, encouraging and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children. You’ll establish and maintain a good relationship with parents, acknowledging them as the primary carers and maintain objective, accurate and up-to-date records that identify the children’s individual needs, abilities and progress, and use these factors for future planning. As our Nursery Practitioner, we’d like you to have at least 3 years previous experience of working in a Nursery or Pre-school setting as a qualified practitioner, hold a NNEB, NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education and can demonstrate that you have experience of caring for children from 3 months to 5 years of age in a group setting. With knowledge of the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs and development of children from 3 months to 5 years, you’ll have awareness of and respect for the needs of the individual, including multi-cultural awareness. You’ll hold a Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy, have good communication skills, able to work as part of a team with the ability to work flexibly in order to attend meetings/activities that may be outside of normal working hours. The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
