About the Role
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Credit Control & Accounts Administrator to join our Finance team. This role combines hands-on credit control with a range of accounts and administration responsibilities, offering both variety and responsibility in a busy, supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company's credit control processes, ensuring timely payments from clients, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the credit control process, including issuing invoices and following up on outstanding payments
* Proactively monitor the debtors ledger across multiple portfolio companies, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances
* Communicate firmly but professionally with customers and internal teams regarding overdue accounts and credit limits
* Place accounts on stop where necessary and manage the process with sales and operations teams
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve invoice/payment queries promptly
* Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
* Prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable for management review
* Collaborate with the wider Finance team, including accounts payable, to ensure smooth operations
* Provide administrative support to the Finance department as required
* Utilise accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and factoring/invoice discounting software like Dancerace) to manage financial data effectively
About You
* Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable is essential
* Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Sage (preferred), QuickBooks, or Xero; knowledge of Dancerace and/or invoice discounting and factoring processes is desirable but not required
* Strong understanding of financial principles and practices related to credit control
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to deliver firm messages professionally
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* A team player who can also work independently and take ownership of tasks
