About Immanuel College
Immanuel College
87-91 Elstree Road, Bushey
Hertfordshire
WD23 4EB
United Kingdom
Immanuel College is an all-through, independent, mainstream school for students aged four to 18, located in Bushey, Hertfordshire. On the roll are 362 boys and 325 girls. This Jewish school was established in 1990 by the late Chief Rabbi Lord Immanuel Jokobovits.
The school is split into three sections: a preparatory school, for children aged four to 11; the senior section, for pupils aged 11 to 16; and a sixth form, for students aged 16 to 18.
Values and vision
When Lord Jokobovits created the school, his aim was to give children the best chance in life, offering them the best form of education in both Jewish and secular studies. He wanted students to be part of society by following the values of their faith.
Immanuel College values modesty and respect, believing that every child is equal within the school. It follows the Torah, aiming to develop children who "act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with HaShem". Teachers emphasise self-confidence, self-esteem and celebrate each individual pupil.
ISI report
