Offer description

Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Special Partnership Trust (SPT) Schools in Devon

Are you driven by compassion, collaboration and the desire to remove barriers to learning?

Step into a leadership role where your expertise will shape a Trust‑wide therapeutically informed model, influence multi‑agency practice and transform the lived experience of children and families across Devon.

Join us in building a service that truly changes lives.

About Us
At Special Partnership Trust, we’re on a mission to advocate for high quality Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision across the Southwest. As an ambitious and aspirational Trust, we believe in creating inclusive and empowering workplaces that put people first.

The Role
As the Manager of Therapeutic Services across the SPT schools in Devon, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Special Partnership Trust’s interprofessional, multi‑agency therapeutically informed model in Devon/Torbay, working alongside the existing Cornwall Team.

Working across all Devon/Torbay Trust schools, you will lead the development of bespoke assessment pathways, intervention programmes and therapeutic strategies that reduce barriers to learning and promote pupil wellbeing.

You will provide operational leadership for the Devon/Torbay Trust’s therapeutic offer, overseeing the Therapeutic Intervention Assistants in each school and working closely with internal and external professionals including OT, SALT, CAMHS LD, social care and wider health partners. Your work will directly influence strategic planning, service development and the long‑term sustainability of the Trust’s therapeutic provision.

This is a highly impactful role for someone who is passionate about trauma‑informed practice, collaborative working and improving outcomes for children and young people with complex SEND.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the operational development and delivery of the Devon/Torbay therapeutic service model, including screening, internal referrals and multi‑tiered intervention pathways
2. Oversee and support Therapeutic Intervention Assistants across all Devon/Torbay Trust schools, ensuring high‑quality practice, supervision and professional development
3. Work collaboratively with internal therapists (OT/SALT) and external agencies to coordinate specialist programmes and ensure joined‑up support for pupils
4. Identify barriers to learning and develop therapeutic strategies, environmental adaptations and interventions that promote regulation, engagement and access to the curriculum
5. Contribute to strategic planning, service improvement and the development of Trust‑wide policies, pathways and evaluation frameworks
6. Maintain high standards of record‑keeping, reporting and data management in line with professional codes of practice and Trust policies
7. Develop and deliver specialist training for staff across the Trust, supporting the growth of therapeutic knowledge and capacity
8. Build strong relationships with parents and carers, offering guidance, workshops and clear communication around pupil needs and progress
9. Support research, audit and evaluation activities to inform service development and evidence impact
10. Champion a culture of inclusion, safeguarding and high‑quality therapeutic practice across all Trust settings.

Our Total Reward Offer
The Special Partnership Trust recognises the importance of developing a properly implemented People Strategy to underpin the overall strategic aims of the Trust.

Our People Strategy is designed to help us attract prospective high calibre candidates, as well as drive engagement, productivity and retention of our high performing and high potential employees. It reflects our belief in putting our people first. This does not mean putting our learners second. It is based on the philosophy that if we create a positive and rewarding work environment, if our staff feel motivated, well managed and well supported, they in turn will provide the best possible outcome for our learners.

We recognise that our total reward offer has got to consist of more than just money. We seek to provide our staff with a diverse range of benefits that support their day to day needs both at work and outside of work. These include generous leave entitlements and pension scheme as well as access to health/wellbeing tools, training & development, career pathways and opportunities to ensure they feel valued.
