We’re looking for Civil Enforcement Officers to join our parking services team.
The Role
Parking Services provides a range of frontline services, including the day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of pay and display machinery throughout the district.
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will be:
1. Flexible and reliable.
2. Observant and able to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public, with accuracy in recording information.
3. Patrolling car parks and highways in your designated area to enforce parking regulations, and assisting and answering enquiries from the public in a helpful and sensitive manner.
4. Issuing penalty charge notices using handheld computerised terminals and making written reports in support of notices issued if required.
5. Reporting defects related to signing, street lighting, street furniture, or any hazards that may affect public safety or the proper operation of parking facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves the outdoors and wishes to broaden their knowledge of North Yorkshire while working outside.
Shifts
5 days over 7, with shifts from 06:45am to 00:15am. An allowance of up to £30 per full weekend day (approximately £2000 annually) is available for weekend work.
A full manual driving license is required to perform all aspects of the role, although candidates working towards this license will also be considered.
What You Will Bring
You should be customer-focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills, resilient in dealing with members of the public, and able to operate a computer or similar equipment, which is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
