Performance Profile: Head of Events
Culinary Collective partners with Michelin-starred chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists to deliver exceptional food experiences across events, venues, restaurants, and semi-permanent sites. The Head of Events leads the planning and execution of all corporate and private events across our six Borough venues, manages a fleet of five chef-led food trucks attending major UK festivals, and supports the launch of new restaurant and site openings. This role owns the commercial, operational, and compliance of the events function ensuring every activation is profitable, professionally executed and on-brand from planning to delivery.
What You’ll Achieve In Your First 12 Months
* Deliver 40+ Events: Lead the end-to-end delivery of world class food-led events, from 50-person corporate activations to 1,000+ guest venue takeovers for clients such as Checkout.com, EY, and the International Festival Forum. You’ll be hands-on in planning, advancing, and executing key events on-site to ensure smooth delivery and exceptional guest experience.
* Commercial Management: Take full ownership of event P&Ls driving profitability through accurate forecasting, cost control, and disciplined financial reconciliation.
* Operational Systems: Build and embed robust event processes and checklists that raise standards, improve efficiency, and enable consistent delivery across venues, restaurant openings, and mobile operations.
* Team Leadership: Develop and manage a trusted pool of freelance event managers, setting clear expectations, providing on-the-ground support during major events, and scaling resources efficiently across peak periods.
* Client Relationships: Lead relationships with key clients, suppliers, and venue partners ensuring communication is clear, delivery is reliable, and service levels drive repeat business.
* Fleet & Venue Operations: Oversee the planning, deployment, and delivery of our five chef-led food trucks and ensure smooth operations across six Borough venues and new restaurant openings, including on-site presence during key activations.
* Health & Safety: Champion a proactive approach to safety across all events and sites maintaining up-to-date risk registers and assessments, and ensuring full compliance with licensing, food safety, and EHO requirements.
Key Requirements
* 5+ years’ experience in food-led event management with hands-on catering and operational delivery experience.
* Strong understanding of food safety legislation, EHO compliance, and catering operations, ensuring all events meet the highest standards of quality and control.
* Proven ability to own and manage P&L, delivering strong commercial outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
* Track record of leading and developing high-performing freelance or internal event teams.
* Deep knowledge of supplier management, hospitality logistics, and live event operations.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and live on-site during major events.
