Inclusion. Advocacy. Impact.
At Duke's Aldridge Academy, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their starting point. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate SENCO to lead our provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
About Duke's and Aldridge Education
Part of the Aldridge Education Trust, Duke's is a proudly inclusive school in the heart of Tottenham; a vibrant, multicultural community with extraordinary potential. The school serves an area of high deprivation, and we are committed to breaking down barriers to learning and opportunity.
We are guided by two central principles:
* Leaving no one behind
* Bringing learning to life
These are the drivers of everything we do, and the SENCO is central to that mission.
As Assistant Principal and SENCO, you will lead and champion our SEND provision, ensuring that students with additional needs receive the support, access, and advocacy they deserve.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
* Coordinating support for students with EHCPs and those at SEN Support
* Working closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to create personalised, high-impact interventions
* Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
* Building a culture of inclusive, high-quality teaching for all
* Using data and evidence to evaluate impact and drive improvement
You will:
* Have successful experience of managing whole school change to bring about clear evidence of school improvement for all or groups of students
* Lead with compassion, credibility and clarity, have experience of presenting initiatives at whole school level to both staff, parents, governors and the local community
* Be a qualified teacher, ideally holding the National Award for SEN Coordination (or willing to work towards it)
* Have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice
* Have a commitment to equity, access, and advocacy for every learner, work well with colleagues, families, and outside agencies in a spirit of collaboration and ambition
* Have experience (or are ready to step up) in managing and developing a team of support staff
Why Join Duke's?
This is a genuine opportunity to make a lasting difference in a community where the need is real, and the impact is visible. At Duke's, inclusion isn't an add-on, it's part of our DNA.
We offer:
* A supportive, values-led team and Trust
* The opportunity to be part of a school on an exciting improvement journey
* Professional development through Aldridge Education and SEND networks
* A chance to work in a diverse, dynamic community with real purpose and heart
How to apply:
The closing date for applications is 5pm on October 8th.
Applications should be made electronically via Anderson Quigley.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling process with interviews taking place in person on 11th, 12th and 13th November.
