A vacancy has arisen for a suitably qualified registered nurse or AHP with substantial experience in acute elective orthopaedic nursing to lead the Arthroplasty Joint Review Follow Up Clinic and assist in developing and modernising this service to meet current and future requirements.
You will have the ability to engage staff of all levels to help modernise and enhance this service.
You will work closely alongside the Orthopaedic Consultants, Early Education & Follow Up Clinic and the Orthopaedic Research Team to provide a service that meets the need of all Arthroplasty patients.
You will be the primary point of care for these patients and their relatives helping to provide a gold standard service after their surgery as part of our regimen of post-operative follow-up clinics.
The post holder must be willing to work cross-site as and when required.

Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
1. Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant specialty
2. Advanced communication skills including; to communicate complex, sensitive or confidential information in an appropriate manner; to liaise effectively; to understand and disseminate multifaceted information
3. Phlebotomy Skills
4. Able to deliver formal and informal learning sessions to all groups of professionals
5. Organisational and on-going planning skills including own workload and of others in an unpredictable environment
Desirable criteria
6. Highly specialist clinical skills across the relevant specialty
7. Ability to assess range of joint movements using goniometer (training can be provided)
8. Ability to assess basic radiography post arthroplasty surgery
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience
10. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
11. Awareness of local and national agenda within the speciality
12. Design and delivery of effective organisation wide training programmes and/or interventions
Desirable criteria
13. Familiar with OKS/OHS, and other musculoskeletal PROMs
14. Familiar with post THR, TKR exercise regimes
Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
15. Professional UK registration e.g. NMC, HPC
16. Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills
17. Able to Demonstrate a good command of the English language both written and verbal
18. Post registration qualification(s) in field of expertise
19. Computer literate
Desirable criteria
20. Special interest in MSL, especially Hips and Knees
21. IRMER Certificate
22. Certificate in GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
23. Additional Post graduate learning in specialist field including master’s degree or working towards
