What's the role: As a Shift Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our terminal-supporting major UK airports and mobility customers. Shell Kingsbury Terminal is a world-class asset located north of Birmingham, operated by Shell in partnership with ESSAR. With an annual throughput of ~2 billion litres, this Upper Tier COMAH site is central to the UK's energy transition and decarbonisation efforts. You'll be part of a close-knit team that values respect, openness, accountability, and continuous improvement. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year, and your leadership will be essential in maintaining safe operations, supporting our people, and ensuring product supply continuity. You'll step up confidently when your manager is away and collaborate with Shell and contractor teams to uphold our high standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead & undertake operational activities during your shift, acting as the empowered deputy outside core hours.
* Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and the Terminal Operations Manual.
* Supervise contractors and staff, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
* Oversee product import/export, plant maintenance, and inventory security.
* Conduct emergency response drills and support first aid readiness.
* Investigate stock variances and maintain system accuracy.
* Experience supervising operational teams in a safety-critical environment.
* Knowledge of terminal equipment, plant operations, and maintenance systems.
* Familiarity with emergency response procedures and customer satisfaction drivers.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
