Overview
We're on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you'll help people gain more independence in their daily lives, while working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. Our supported living service in Uxbridge is a welcoming and friendly environment, and you can be sure that no two days will be the same. You'll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs; the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema. This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.
Responsibilities
* Help people gain independence in daily living skills and support with personal care where needed
* Encourage and support access to local communities, social activities and outings
* Plan and participate in activities with individuals to promote confidence and independence
* Support with cooking, meal planning and household tasks as appropriate
* Work within a team to provide consistent and compassionate support
* Adapt approaches to meet individual needs and goals
Requirements / Qualifications
- You don’t need prior experience to be a fantastic Support Worker; a genuine caring attitude, a passion for improving quality of life, and a willingness to learn are essential
