Job overview
Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for two new trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner roles. One will focus on malignant haematology services, and the other on non-malignant haematology services.
The roles will work alongside the established Clinical Haematology team, which includes five Consultant Haematologists, one Advanced Nurse Practitioner for Malignant Haematology, and four Clinical Nurse Specialists within a District General Hospital. The team has strong links with the tertiary centre in Leeds to ensure optimal patient care.
The successful candidates will be trainee ACPs with a specific interest in Haematology, starting at band 6 with progression at 18 months to band 7 and at 3 years to band 8a.
The roles are full-time, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of the roles is to provide expert advanced clinical practice, leadership, collaborative working, research delivery, and education to staff and patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Post holders will practice autonomously as advanced practitioners within haematology, delivering patient-centered care, including independent assessment, clinical examination, decision-making, planning of care and treatment, and independent prescribing.
They will provide inpatient advice and support to medical teams and ward staff, develop professional relationships to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support the operational and strategic development of the haematology service.
Additionally, they will deliver education and learning strategies tailored to healthcare professionals involved in treating patients with haematological malignancies.
