We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Consultant to design and implement end-to-end governance processes as part of a complex transformation programme. This is a senior-level contract role suited to someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery capability in data governance. You'll work across business and technical teams to define standards, embed scalable governance frameworks, and support compliance, quality, and operational excellence across the data lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and standards. Define and clarify data ownership and stewardship models, ensuring accountability structures are clear. Map and optimise end-to-end data lifecycle processes, from creation to deletion. Establish and embed metadata and data lineage management processes for full traceability. Drive data quality management through the definition of rules, thresholds, and remediation practices. Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and embed compliance controls. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure governance processes are adopted and effective. Define requirements for and support integration of data governance tooling (e.g. Alation, Stibo). Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track governance effectiveness and maturity. Act as a bridge between data governance and analytics initiatives, supporting innovation and business readiness for AI and self-service data models. Ideal Profile: Proven experience as a Data Governance Consultant or Senior Data Management Specialist. Strong track record of process design and optimisation within large, matrixed environments. Familiarity with governance tools such as Alation, Stibo, Collibra, or similar. Practical understanding of data privacy regulations and governance best practices. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience influencing at senior levels. Comfortable delivering in fast-paced, change-driven environments with minimal supervision.
