* Schedule: Full Time Evenings M - F 12pm -8:30pm
* Work Location: UAB ST Vincents Birmingham

What You Will Do
Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
* Assists the operating room staff including the anesthesia providers with certain technical aspects of patient care.
* Monitors and controls the operating room environment. Cleans and disinfects the surgical suite and/or reusable equipment and supplies. Disposes soiled linen and solid wastes. Cleans anesthetizing location. Cares for ancillary anesthesia equipment.
* Transports patients, equipment, instruments, specimens and supplies.
* Lifts and positions patients according to practice standards. Demonstrates an awareness of patient and personal safety.
* Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
* Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
* Performs certain technical patient care duties in the hospital as directed by the staff nurse such as oxygen setup, pulse oximetry setup, specimen collection and EKGs.
* Obtain and record vitals, weight, and inputs and outputs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
* BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
* High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
