The Distribution Operations Manager oversees performance across distribution centers and transport, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include preparing KPI and trend reports, attending operational meetings, and driving audit completion. The role involves coaching managers on operational routines, optimizing pallet utilization, managing inbound/outbound flows, and planning for seasonal peaks. It ensures resource and equipment availability, supports recruitment for peak periods, and promotes accountability across shifts. Additional duties include inventory compliance, labour performance reviews, transport optimization, and leading change management initiatives. Collaboration with supply chain and project teams is essential to deliver best-in-class processes and operational excellence. Complete the weekly operational stat pack for all sites and Transport to show how they are tracking against KPI’s. Also to collate the period packs showing trends and opportunities. This will also include the H&S pack and packs for the DCM period and QTRLY Meetings Attend the weekly trade meeting and bi weekly One Stop operational meeting to ensure that distribution is taking into consideration for business changes and are part of any business updates, trade initiative's. Responsible for ensuring audit, safe and legal, next steps have been completed with the sites and ensure all action plans are completed. Distribution Centres Gets to the root cause of operational issues and supports the managers to build action plans that they can own and deliver. Being the expert for operational routines to provide support and coaching to the Centre Managers, Support as the leader of the Ops Model and Scott Grant timings ensuring that all are up to date and necessary changes made when needed with your sign off Work Closely with Supply chain to review pallet utilization and ensure protecting inbound and outbound for the business, supporting the plan for slow moving lines. Responsible for all loose equipment and IT counts ensuing that we have sufficient for key peak trading times. Seasonal plans- Produce seasonal packs 3-6 months in advance of a seasonal period to ensure the Distribution centres are aligned in ways of working and areas to focus on. Promoting a culture of responsibility and accountability within the warehouse across all shifts. Team 5’s – Chair and facilitate weekly steam 5 meetings. Inbound improvement plan – How do we manage inbound volumes, smooth profile and tipping loads within 30 minutes. Working with Supply chain to ensure end to end processes are best in class, plan together for volumes and growth. Projects – Work with S2I and security teams on projects they want to trial in DC’s, agree trial DC, Pre and post date review, roll out plan if signed off. Actively support and promote change management and continuous improvement culture through your team. Ensure that the inventory manager is compliant with routines, opportunities and reporting, including store claims as they report into you. Ensure that the inventory team have deep dived into all claims and looked for root cause analysis and problem solving. Ensure that you complete a review against the Performance of Labour Management and colleagues achieving vs missing Ensure that the resource planning and capability Manager has built the plans for RHRP and that sites are working towards their targets of moving hours, supporting with noticed rota changes where needed Support the Resource manager in the execution of the LAPD plans, ensuring the KPI are correct and that they deliver for the business and that we recruit in line with this, using Agency for peak periods where needed. Ensure that the resource planning team are reviewing transport plans in line with timelines and reviewing opportunities to save trips, working with supply chain on cage numbers where needed.
