Job Purpose
To professionally and proactively manage vehicle maintenance, maximizing vehicle availability while minimizing maintenance costs.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as Technical Maintenance Controller, including training in company systems, supporting employees, and ensuring health and safety.
* Manage maintenance providers: maximize warranty periods, negotiate repair charges, manage budgets, produce financial reports, source parts and suppliers, and liaise with manufacturers on product issues and safety recalls.
* Oversee Fleet Desk Operations: maintain operating hours, control costs, support staff, organize warranty and third-party repairs, and handle queries and out-of-hours breakdowns.
* Manage Mobile Engineers: arrange inspections, organize PDI’s, ensure maintenance standards, support training, and uphold health and safety policies.
* Use and manage the fleet management system accurately, resolve system faults, and monitor KPIs.
* Administer new vehicle onboarding: ensure PDIs, legal documentation, system entry, and communication with contracts.
About You
Key Skills
* High understanding of fleet management systems; Fleetwave experience is a plus.
* Clean UK driver’s license (Category C+E) preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
Must have one of the following:
* Educated to A level or equivalent, or
* Automotive apprenticeship, or
* HNC in Automotive Engineering and Science, or
* CPC in Road Haulage (advantage).
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
