If you are interested in working as a Paralegal for a market leader in a clinical field, then read on as we seeking a talented Paralegal to join our in-house legal department, within our prestigious city centre office on St Vincent Street.
The role:
The role of Paralegal will include the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Document management – collating and checking documents, with preparation of files;
2. Assisting with day to day tasks for the in-house Solicitors;
3. Dealing with any ad hoc duties that may arise;
4. Drafting letters and reports to the client;
5. Research tasks and analysis of documents to provide information to the in-house Solicitors;
6. Ensure files are kept up to date, accurate and in accordance with company procedure;
7. Assisting with drafting of Court documents;
8. Assisting with the preparation of Witness Statements/Precognitions; and
9. Assisting with updates to third parties.
10. Focus on dispute resolution
Essential Skills:
11. Flexible and willing to work within a busy team environment;
12. Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail;
13. Good communication skills;
14. Confident in working independently, but also work well within a team;
15. Highly organised;
16. IT literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel;
17. Experience of Scottish Court proceedings essential;
18. Experience of English Court proceedings desirable;
19. Experience of medical malpractice/personal injury/litigation desirable;
20. Preferably have a minimum of a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) or a Paralegal qualification.
