Assistant Management Accountant

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Financial Management team.
Key Requirements
* Experience of using computer systems such as Oracle Financials.
* NHS financial experience.
* AAT part-qualified or equivalent, or actively studying towards full AAT qualification, or with significant role experience.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially working well with non-finance colleagues.
* Strong analytical skills, an eye for detail and accuracy, especially using Excel spreadsheets and other systems.
* Good time management skills working to tight deadlines.
* Flexibility to work within the Divisional team or across the teams as required.
* Reliable and committed to delivering targets and achieving outcomes.
Main Duties
* Provide a high quality financial advice and business support service to the division.
* Financial management reporting and budgetary control across the division.
* Support Finance Manager in monthly close‑down of the general ledger system in line with deadlines.
* Use a computerised ledger system and Microsoft Office packages to provide analysis to department managers and budget holders.
* Assist in production of income and/or expenditure budgets, monthly management reports and reconciliations.
Qualifications
* AAT part-qualified or equivalent, or actively studying towards full AAT qualification, or with significant role experience.
Experience
* Experience of working in a finance department.
* Experience of assisting in the production of income and/or expenditure annual budgets and monthly management reports.
* Experience of spreadsheet, database and computerised ledger applications.
* NHS finance experience.
Skills and Knowledge
* Numerate and IT aware, with good keyboard skills.
* Able to undertake initial investigation and resolution of expenditure variances within area of responsibility.
* Able to analyse and manipulate large volumes of complex data into meaningful information and produce summaries for review by the Management Accountant.
* Knowledge of the NHS financial regime and relevant legislation and guidance.
