PEACEPLUS Project Officer Job type: Temporary Location: Killyvilly Depot, Enniskillen or The Grange, Omagh Quantity of Posts Available: 1 Closing date: Friday 04 Jul 2025 12:00 Job summary The main purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of the PEACEPLUS Environment for all project, designed to engage local communities in meaningful environmental activities that support biodiversity, climate action, and cross-community collaboration. The candidate will coordinate initiatives to animate unused green spaces and lead projects such as forest schools, conservation workshops, and upcycling activities. Building partnerships with external stakeholders, the role seeks to foster shared learning experiences and empower communities to champion environmental action. This position aims to create sustainable, shared spaces that strengthen intergenerational and cross-community connections across the district. Job Description Job Ref: 25/EP/16 Job Title: PEACEPLUSProjectOfficer Duration: Fixed Term for 24 months; with the possibility of extension based on available funding. Reports to: FODC Climate Project Officer Hours: 37 hours per week; The postholder may be required on occasion to work evenings, weekend and public holidays. Travel within the UK and Ireland for work purposes may also be required Salary: SO1 1; SCP 26-28; £36,124 - £37,938 per annum; one increment for atypical working. Main Duties and Responsibilities Resource Management: Manage the day-to-day development and delivery of the PEACEPLUS Environment for all and the associated programme budget allocation. CoordinatethepromotionoftheEnvironmentforAllSchemeandfacilitate appropriate recruitment and selection processes, monitoring and addressing gaps in participation as necessary Establish effective monitoring and evaluation arrangements, ensuring appropriate record keeping of programme results, outputs and spends. Liaise with the PEACEPLUS Coordinator in relation to all elements of the project that will require the approval of the PEACEPLUS Partnership. Ensureeffectivemanagementofallresourceandcapitalexpenditureinline withboththeSpecialEuropeanUnionProgrammesBody(SEUPB)andthe Councils policies and procedures. Prepare and submit claims (as necessary) for processing to the PEACEPLUS Administration Team in accordance with the Letter of Offer, CouncilsPoliciesandProceduresandEUFundedGuidelinesasstipulated by SEUPB. Prepare procurement documentation in full accordance with the Councils procurement policy and external funding requirements by SEUPB, liaising as necessary with Procurement Team. To prepare qualitative and quantitative reports as required which monitor theprogressoftheprogrammesduringtheirimplementationandrecordand implementchangeswerenecessaryensuringthesereportsaredeliveredto key partners and all relevant bodies. To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be assigned. Projects and Experiences: Communicate effectively and build relationships with key stakeholders, to include the Community and Voluntary Sector in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area. Manage resources and capital expenditures in accordance the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) and the Councils policies and procedures. ImplementthePEACEPLUSEnvironmentforallprojectensuringthefulfilment of the aims and objectives, milestones, results and outcomes specified in the Letter of Offer, ensuring compliance with Council and SEUPB terms. CoordinatewiththePEACEPLUSAdministrationTeamandCounciltosupport peacebuildingandcommunitycapacityinitiativesthatalignwithlocalplansand strategies. To prepare qualitative and quantitative reports as required which monitor the progress of the programmes during their implementation and record and implementchangeswerenecessaryensuringthesereportsaredeliveredtokey partners and all relevant bodies. Engage & liaise with programme team, and key stakeholders to ensure the funding targets are achieved. Provide supportto theprogramme team to ensuregood governancein project management and implementation. Identify training needs and liaise with other organisations and partners as necessary to support training and knowledge share activities. To ensure compliance with health and safety requirements for all Contract works. Attend as required, meetings with statutory bodies, funders or partner organisations in relation to the project. Networks and Partnerships Developingpurposedrivenrelationshipswithawiderangeofstakeholders Coordinate landowners, volunteers and community groups etc. in assisting delivery of the project across all sites in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders. Communication Ensuringeffective communications, internallyandexternallyacrossa rangeofmedia andforarangeofaudiences.Thiswillincludewrittenandoralcommunicationandwill include: Gather and prepare information required to fulfil Council reporting and performance management requirements and Freedom of Information requests. Person Specification EssentialCriteria Possess a third level qualification in a relevant subject for example, horticulture, environmental science, community development, or equivalent qualification and Aminimumof1yearsrelevantexperience OR Two years relevant experience Relevantexperiencemustincludeevidenceof:- a) Development and co-ordination of environmental workshops/training in community settings. b) Promotion of educational awareness in climate action projects. c) Working in partnership and liaising with external stakeholders such as statutory, voluntary and community organisations. d) Ability to prioritise and use own initiative to deliver projects in order to meet specific targets and deadlines. - Preparing qualitative and quantitative reports for management and external stakeholders - Competence in the use of IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages - Possess a full current driving licence and/or have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post.
