Wealth Management Engineering requires a hybrid Technical Project / Product Manager & Business Analyst to manage critical growth initiatives and regulatory obligations by leveraging best-in-class project management skills and strong functional / architectural expertise. We are seeking a Project Manager, Product Manager, Business Analyst with excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills to support technology needs across divisions. The role offers an opportunity to manage key initiatives for the Asset and Wealth Management Division (AWM), which require engineering uplift to meet new business opportunities or respond to industry and regulatory demands.
Roles will include:
1. Collaborating with Divisional and Engineering Management, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to define and document the problem domain and requirements.
2. Working with Engineering leadership and teams (within AWM and across divisions) to agree on solution design, resourcing, and deliverables.
3. Supporting Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle by liaising with the broader project team to ensure dependencies and deliverables are met.
4. Holding project teams accountable, removing roadblocks, and leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity.
5. Defining, tracking, and communicating key project delivery metrics such as OKRs and Measures of Success to senior leadership.
6. Gaining a deep functional knowledge of the problem domain and providing opportunities to demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
7. Asking focused questions and quickly understanding current processes, comparing, and relating to similar situations.
8. Applying critical thinking to challenge assumptions (such as functional requirements and solution designs).
9. Tracking problems, resolutions, and ensuring all actions are completed by deadlines.
10. Escalating unresolved or at-risk items and prioritizing analysis based on risks, even with incomplete information.
Basic Skills and Qualifications:
1. A proactive attitude with the confidence to drive organizational change collaboratively.
2. A strong sense of ownership and accountability for enhancing the firm’s capabilities in a commercially sound manner.
3. Energy, focus, drive, and urgency to advance projects.
4. Experience as a Technical Project Manager / Business Analyst within Financial Services or relevant sectors, with a solid understanding of the System Development Life Cycle.
5. Knowledge of project governance best practices and experience with project management tools.
6. Motivation to improve business processes through technology, with a successful track record of delivering complex programs under tight deadlines.
7. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying key messages, escalating issues, and building consensus with senior management.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable:
1. Understanding of Investment Banking Business, Financial concepts, products, services, and regulations.
2. Experience with trade lifecycle and functional teams within investment banks.
3. Knowledge of the project and software development lifecycle.
4. Ability to explain problems and solutions clearly at appropriate levels for different audiences.
