This role is ideally suited to a career-minded, ambitious individual seeking a unique opportunity to prove their capabilities and be rewarded for it. We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join our successful Risk team. This is a home-based role with some occasional travel to the office required.
Role and Responsibilities
The Risk Analyst supports the Risk department and internal stakeholders by providing best-in-class service to customers of InspiredPLC who purchase energy supply via a Flexible Purchasing product. The primary objective is to assist Risk Directors/Managers with timely, accurate, and comprehensive support. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Trading support: complete hedging requests for smaller Inspired customers and ensure timely and accurate deal capture in appropriate systems.
2. Platform support: ensure that Platform Manager (ETRM) and Sugar (CRM) are up to date with accurate details and information for all customers and trades.
3. Monitor and check customer position reports and hedging performance.
4. Monitor customer energy usage, report against expected levels, and support reforecasting.
5. Support Risk Directors/Managers with administrative tasks.
6. Assist Account Managers and Quality Assurance with queries related to customer trades, systems, and reporting.
7. Support monthly cost validations for gas and electricity prices across various customers and products.
8. Maintain accurate and secure records within information systems.
9. Coordinate with various divisions within InspiredPLC to support risk objectives.
10. Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by managers or department leads.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
* Logical, analytical, and pragmatic problem-solving approach.
* High numerical ability with strong analytical skills and academic background.
* Ability to learn new software platforms and workflows.
* Understanding of risk management analysis, probability, statistics, and quantitative analysis.
* Experience working with large, complex datasets in spreadsheets and databases.
* Resilience and ability to build strong relationships.
* Effective time management skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation.
* Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
