Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our team in Liverpool. This full-time role offers an initial contract of 6 months, providing an exciting opportunity for a compassionate psychiatrist to lead and contribute to high-quality mental health services for adults in the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, overseeing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with mental health disorders.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate interventions.
* Support primary care providers, community mental health teams, and other stakeholders involved in adult mental health care.
* Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including trainees and students.
* Participate in service development, quality improvement, and research initiatives to enhance mental health services.
Requirements
* Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or eligibility).
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
* Significant experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in adult mental health services.
* Expertise in managing mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
