Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and patient‑focused Orthoptist to join its multidisciplinary eye care team. Applications from newly qualified candidates or those with limited experience will be strongly considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and management for patients with disorders of binocular vision, ocular motility defects and visual development conditions.
* Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, nurses and other allied health professionals within outpatient clinics and specialist services.
* Assess and manage paediatric and adult patients, including strabismus, amblyopia and diplopia.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to clinical decision‑making.
* Participate in service development, clinical governance, audit, service evaluation and quality improvement activities.
* Support the training and supervision of students and junior staff.
* Adhere to Trust policies and professional standards, delivering patient‑centred care in line with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust values.
Qualifications
* Registered Orthoptist with a relevant professional qualification.
* Strong clinical skills and excellent communication abilities.
* Commitment to delivering compassionate care aligned with the Trust’s values.
* Experience in orthoptic services is an advantage; newly qualified candidates will be considered.
