Overview
This is a rewarding role which involves working face to face with some of the most in need people in our society: Manchester's homeless community. The role involves identifying support needs for eligible clients and making appropriate referrals into temporary accommodation. This role is crucial to reducing rough sleeping in Manchester and to ensuring that homelessness is as brief as possible and non reoccurring. This is an extremely rewarding but also at times challenging role which offers excellent opportunities for knowledge building and training. The rota involves both day and evening shifts and occasional weekend work, so there is a 6.7% flexibility payment for this.

This role is subject to - 2 References - where possible we require 3 years' employment history. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be empathetic, have strong people skills and be passionate about ending homelessness. You will be a flexible and motivated worker who can deal with rapidly changing situations and enjoy working in a fast paced environment and using a holistic approach. You will be able to both liaise with clients who are rough sleeping, agencies and managers about ongoing issues and work collaboratively to ensure rough sleepers are getting correct support into different accommodation options. The rota involves both day and evening shifts and occasional weekend work.
During periods of extreme cold weather when the temperature is at zero degrees or below overnight there will be the added requirement to work nights on a rotating shift pattern. Night time Outreach would be between 21:30 - 04:00

Contract Type: 2 x Full-Time, Permanent
Additional Payments: 6.7% Flexibility Payment, Casual Car User Allowance
