Branta Recruitment are looking for an ambitious Junior Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background or interest in mechanical building services to develop their estimating skills and progress their career within a supportive and experienced commercial team.
Working closely with senior estimators and project managers, you’ll assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installation projects across commercial and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of detailed mechanical estimates and tender submissions.
*
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and materials required.
*
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
*
Support the estimating team in cost analysis, take-offs, and bid preparation.
*
Maintain accurate records of tender documents and project cost data.
*
Contribute to value engineering and project optimisation discussions.
*
Develop a solid understanding of mechanical systems, installation methods, and industry standards.
About You
*
Ideally holds a mechanical or building services qualification (HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3).
*
Some experience within estimating, mechanical services, or related construction roles is desirable.
*
Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills (Excel, estimation software).
*
Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach.
*
Eager to learn, take initiative, and develop within a professional team environment.
