Cover Supervisor – Hedge End
Contract – Part Time and Full Time
Start date – January 2026
We are looking for confident, adaptable and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisors to support a variety of friendly primary schools across Hedge End. This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children who are looking to step into a classroom leadership position without the full responsibilities of a qualified teacher.
Who We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children in a school, nursery, or youth setting
* Confidence managing a primary classroom independently
* Strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach
* Ability to build quick rapport with pupils across KS1 and KS2
* Reliability, flexibility and professionalism when adapting to different school environments
* Confidence delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining pupil engagement
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supervising whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
* Delivering pre-set lessons and keeping pupils focused and on task
* Managing behaviour in line with school policies
* Providing support to pupils throughout the school day
* Following school routines, expectations and safeguarding procedures
* Creating a positive, well-structured learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
