Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. -Experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills.
2. -Advanced training as evidenced by highly structured self-directed study using regular appraisal of research & evidence base for specialist clinical area
3. -Evidence of completion of short courses / qualification in management skills such as risk assessments, complaints management, recruitment & selection, performance management.
Desirable criteria
4. -Membership of RCOT
Knowledge skills and abilities
Essential criteria
5. -Specialist knowledge of current best practice in OT and medical conditions associated with the area of work
6. -Specialist knowledge and experience of discharge planning in acute medical setting
7. -Planning and coordination of discharge & treatment programmes
Desirable criteria
8. -Experience in resource management and service development
9. -Experience in integrated discharge planning
Relevent Experience
Essential criteria
10. -Post registration experience as an OT working in an acute trust and senior experience working with people with neurological conditions
11. -Experience of coaching / developing reflective clinical practice in less experienced staff.
12. -Experience of developing case management skills in less experienced staff.
Desirable criteria
13. -Experience in management of different therapy disciplines
