We have a phenomenal opportunity for a Lead Procurement Manager to join a successful team, helping to lead and develop various elements of the Property category, including developing the strategy for Mechanical and Electrical (M&E). This role requires partnering with property, distribution, and retail colleagues.
We're seeking an expert procurement manager who will work closely with senior colleagues within the business to create, build, and develop category plans aligned with Tesco’s key objectives.
Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering high savings targets through robust sourcing events, ensuring suppliers meet operational requirements while providing value for Tesco.
2. Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues to support, endorse, and deliver plans aligned with category procurement strategies for business savings and innovation.
3. Developing and executing procurement strategies that support Tesco’s business objectives and meet savings targets.
4. Collaborating with partners to write and implement the procurement category plan for M&E.
5. Supervising and reporting on savings targets for sub-categories using the agreed process.
6. Leading supplier reviews and acting as the point of contact for contract issues.
7. Building positive relationships with customers and procurement teams across business areas and subsidiaries like Booker and Tesco CE to drive efficiencies and savings.
8. Reviewing existing and potential new suppliers for sustainability, minimizing risks, and optimizing service.
Requirements:
* Procurement expertise, preferably with experience leading GSNFR categories.
* Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of Procurement Managers, including overseas colleagues.
* Experience in developing talent and growing team capabilities.
* Proficiency in procurement management, contract negotiation, and leading large sourcing events.
* Ability to innovate and engage senior colleagues effectively.
* Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive category innovation.
