CNC Grinder Setter/Operator
Nr Cheltenham
Full time Permanent • Dayshift
Salary - Up to £45,000 per annum
Responsibilities
* Set and operate one or more CNC machines in the cell.
* Perform daily machine health checks.
* Stamp own work.
* Report non-conformances (NCRs).
* Mentor and support new staff or apprentices within the Machine Shop.
* Collaborate with the Production Team Leader and Production Manager to establish key delivery dates and requirements.
* Communicate workshop issues to the Production Team Leader.
Qualifications & Requirements
* GCSEs or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An engineering qualification, preferably craft apprenticeship or equivalent.
* Basic CNC programming and machine competence.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of machining Chrome (nice to have).
* Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
* Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardised situations.
* Experience of working in aerospace sectors (AS 9100).
