We're on the lookout for dynamic and enthusiastic Box Office Assistants to join our team for the upcoming Edinburgh Science Festival.
Pay: £12.60 per hour + holiday pay
Hours: Full-time
Duration: Temporary, fixed-term contract, 4–19 April 2026. Training on 21 March 2026 (Saturday).
Work Location: Edinburgh
About the Role
As a Box Office Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the Festival, playing a crucial role in creating a seamless experience for our visitors. The role focuses on assisting customers making bookings over the counter, through our website and handling any telephone enquiries. In addition, you may be required to assist with sponsor and other complimentary ticket bookings.
This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who wish to build on their existing box office and customer service skills in a high-pressure Festival environment.
Your responsibilities
* Assisting customers with ticket purchases and enquiries.
* Providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive Festival experience.
* Sharing information about the exciting events and exhibits at the festival.
* Collaborating with the Festival team to maintain efficient box office operations.
The Box Office team are based primarily in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. We operate a box office counter at this venue and operate a satellite telephone room. During the Festival, the Box Office is usually open 9:30am–5pm daily but occasionally stays open later for some events.
