Role Overview
Grade: J scp 35 (£46,142) to scp 39 (£50,269); Contract: Fixed Term, 2 years
This manager‑level role will shape and promote Bolton’s Place story across regeneration and related services, including planning, highways and environmental services. It supports economic growth and builds confidence among partners, investors and residents.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic communications, marketing, policy support and stakeholder engagement to create clear campaigns, joined‑up strategies and strong narratives that support council priorities, including the Local Plan.
* Lead place marketing and communications activity, coordinate regeneration and growth programmes, and ensure delivery to agreed milestones, budgets and outcomes.
* Represent Bolton at key meetings and events, work with senior colleagues and partners, and oversee performance reporting and presentations for internal and external audiences.
* Build effective relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across place services, manage competing priorities, produce high‑quality work and support wider corporate priorities.
* Translate insight into practical recommendations and effective delivery, and manage external partnerships.
Qualifications
* Essential: A degree in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Project Management or a related field.
* Strong communications, marketing, engagement or policy support experience.
* Ability to develop clear messages, coordinate campaigns and support delivery and development of strategies and plans.
* Organised, politically aware and insight‑led, able to work confidently with senior stakeholders.
Requirements
This post is a designated customer‑facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
