As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of a growing team, contributing to the provision of quantity surveying services to Currie & Brown’s clients and assisting senior staff members.
Client
* Support the associate director to establish the project brief.
* Establish project deliverables, which are proactive, timely, and qualitative.
* Provide added value services with solution-driven service.
* Lead and contribute to, as appropriate, the commercial interests and aspirations of the Company and your business unit.
* Promote the Currie & Brown values of Clients, People, Excellence, and Sustainability at all times.
* Strive to provide the best cost consultancy services to clients.
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and advisory services.
People
* Coach and challenge junior/graduate team members utilizing clear objectives and responsibilities.
* Be an industry expert and share your knowledge with others.
* Participate in Currie & Brown internal forums, training, and social events.
Service Delivery
* Assess design, prepare Bill of Quantities, cost plans, and budget estimates.
* Estimate costs, analyze risks, and control costs.
* Manage tendering, procurement, and contracts.
* Assist in preparing tender documents and analyze tenders.
* Follow Currie & Brown’s Quality Management System procedures.
* Undertake project feasibility assessments.
* Support leaders in addressing issues promptly through tactful communication.
* Increase visibility by engaging in local industry organizations.
* Ensure compliance with QSE manual.
Finance
* Forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates, and project utilization.
* Prepare monthly valuations and financial statements.
* Assist in final account negotiations.
* Participate in post-contract control, tax depreciation, and bank reporting.
Qualifications
* Degree in a construction-related discipline or higher diploma/associate degree with relevant experience.
* Engage actively with the team for learning.
* Understanding of the entire build cycle.
* Experience with CostX and BIM.
* Participation in Currie & Brown’s Mentoring Program.
* Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills.
* Strong IT, numeracy, and literacy skills.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Maintain professionalism in work and appearance.
