Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Controls Biased Service Engineer for our hybrid role based in the City of Nottingham, with some work‑from‑home flexibility. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, performing on‑site maintenance and repairs, and providing field service support to ensure the optimal operation of automated systems. Responsibilities also include collaborating with clients to address service requests, delivering technical support, and documenting service activities and improvements.
Happy to work on a on‑call rota days and nights as a 4‑weekly rotation. All remote unless requested for site presence.
Qualifications
* Strong abilities in Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues
* Proven experience in Field Service and on‑site service operations
* Excellent Communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams effectively
* Proficiency in providing Technical Support and addressing customer needs
* Expertise in Maintenance & Repair of automated systems and equipment
* Proficient literacy in control systems, conveyors and related automation technologies
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in hybrid work settings
* Willingness to travel for field service as required
* Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (or equivalent experience) are desirable
* Strong Experience with Siemens TIA Portal V18 onwards
* Previously worked on or with SEW Movisuite or SEW Drives
* Electrical knowledge - reading electrical drawings and some level of fault finding
