We seek an ambitious and self-motivated individual with experience in a range of bioimaging and histology techniques to work in the Bioimaging and Histology Core Facility. You will provide support to academics, researchers and post-graduate students in a range of techniques including tissue processing, wax and cryo-sectioning, vibratome tissue sectioning, tissue clearing, histological staining and IHC, light microscopy and digital slidescanning. The Histology Facility is combined with the Bioimaging Facility so the post-holder must have experience in both techniques and will work across both of these core facilities.
You will work as part of a team to ensure that the systems are maintained to a high standard, assist with training users, general lab management and the running of routine services offered by the Facilities are completed on time and to the professional standard that our users expect. You will work with minimal supervision which requires technical knowledge, an approachable personality, excellent time management and organisational skills.
Essential requirements/skills for the post include
* Substantial experience in bioimaging techniques and image analysis.
* Substantial experience in histological techniques.
* Substantial experience of working in a research laboratory.
* Experience and knowledge of standard laboratory techniques and procedures, use of general lab equipment.
* Good IT skills and use of databases.
