The Role:
The Technical Lead role describes the senior technician’s role in TCS software development whether developed on behalf of a TCS client or developed for TCS internal use. The Technical Lead must have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and be able to define, track and contribute to a project plan as well the ability to monitor and report their own and team progress to the development scrum master, project manager and programme manager. The Technical Lead should be certified in their areas of expertise and have a should understanding of UK insurance market.
Your responsibilities:
* Support the design and development teams through the entire project life-cycle from understanding the business requirements, conducting any necessary proofs of concept, test support and implementation support.
* Produce detailed design documents in conjunction with Solution Architects, Technical Architects and Infrastructure Designers, providing the lead in Software Design that commensurate with the designated architecture and infrastructure.
* They are also expected to work with the Business Stakeholders to ensure that documentation such as Requirements Definitions and User Stories are complete and are suitable for the development team members.
* Deep understanding the business domains to which projects deliver solutions
* Able to suggest and communicate well thought and creative solutions that deliver greater business benefit.
* A Technical Lead will mentor the entire team and organise the mentoring of more junior members of the team by more senior members in line with current and planned projects and technologies.
* Involve in coding for about 50% of the capacity
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Technical Competencies
* A minimum of five years experience developing Java applications for both web and middle-ware using both Spring 5 or higher and Java 11 or higher. Detailed knowledge of all the other software development technologies that are in use in the projects for which the Technical Lead is responsible (such as Spring boot, MVC, integration, Spring Security experience (OAuth2), Azure Cloud experience ) as well as the ability to learn new technologies that are planned for the future.
* Detailed Knowledge of web services is mandatory and must cover both SOAP and RESTful services.
Design Competencies
* The Technical Lead will be able to support the design and development teams through the entire project life-cycle from understanding the business requirements, conducting any necessary proofs of concept, test support and implementation support.
* A Technical Lead will have a sound knowledge of Design Patterns and will be able to describe them in detail and communicate them to all other team members as well as other roles such as Project/Program Managers, Solutions Architects and Technical Architects.
* Throughout the Life-Cycle, the Technical Lead will manage and support other team members in the production of necessary documentation.
Concrete designs

* The candidate must be able to competently communicate both in writing and in Technical Team meetings providing technical support for scrum-masters and other team members.
* A Technical Lead will be able to mentor the entire team and be able to organise the mentoring of more junior members of the team by more senior members in line with current and planned projects and technologies.
* The Technical Lead must keep up to date with compliance requirements.
