* Focusing on enforcement to support actions in the control strategy aimed at reducing offending

The team

The Environment & Business (E&B) Hazardous Waste team is a small, high-performing unit within the Regime Regulation team, supporting government, industry, and colleagues to ensure hazardous waste is properly managed.

We promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture where everyone feels valued. We utilize evidence, expertise, engagement, and innovation to support policy and legislation, influence resources, and deliver results.

Experience/skills Required

* Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and encourage diversity in work practices
* Confidence in negotiating and influencing outcomes
* Building trusting and respectful relationships
* Risk-based decision-making skills
* Knowledge of environmental and waste management legislation
* Innovative mindset and drive to implement new ideas
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Resourcefulness in achieving outcomes aligned with priorities
* Leadership skills in technical areas and team management
* Adaptability to develop new approaches in response to change

We offer development opportunities and appropriate training.
