Project Planner (Primavera P6 / EPC Projects)
Job Summary
The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling project schedules for EPC projects using Primavera P6. The role supports project delivery by providing accurate planning, progress tracking, forecasting, and schedule analysis to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed, resource-loaded project schedules in Primavera P6 covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases
*
Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with EPC contracts and project execution plans
*
Prepare baseline schedules, progress measurement systems, and schedule control procedures
*
Monitor project progress, update schedules regularly, and produce look-ahead schedules and recovery plans
*
Perform critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments
*
Identify schedule delays, analyze causes, and recommend mitigation and recovery actions
*
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to collect progress data
*
Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards, and schedule narratives for management and clients
*
Support change management by assessing schedule impacts of variations, claims, and scope changes
*
Participate in project meetings, progress reviews, and risk workshops
*
Ensure compliance with client, contractual, and company planning standards and procedures
Required Skills & Competencies
*
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory)
*
Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycle and interfaces between engineering, procurement, and construction
*
Experience with progress measurement techniques (physical % complete, earned value, milestones)
*
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procurement schedules, and construction plans
*
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
*
Excellent communication and coordination skills
*
High attention to detail and ability to work under schedule-driven environments
Qualifications & Experience
*
10 years of experience as a Project Planner on EPC projects (oil & gas, power, infrastructure, industrial, or similar)
*
Hands-on experience preparing baseline and detailed schedules using Primavera P6
*
Knowledge of contract planning requirements (FIDIC or similar) is an advantage
