About the role
Applicants are invited for an Applications Specialist position to work in the microarray stream at UCL Genomics, the main genomics facility at UCL which is based in the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children. This post has arisen due to the large increase in projects to this important stream.
We are seeking ahighly motivated individual with experience or interest in microarray profiling (genotyping and methylation) to join our collaborative genomics facility. This is a varied, lab-based role and the successful applicant will join a very busy facility working closely with our other microarray applications specialists and other members of the facility to provide genomics service provision to both internal and external users such as scientists, clinicians and industry professionals.
This post is available initially until December with the possibility of extension.
About you
We are seeking to appoint a creative and highly motivated Application Specialist with prime interest in performing genotyping and methylation microarrays. The position will be integrated into the busy microarray stream at UCL Genomics. This is a large stream currently consisting of eight application specialists and the post holder will be a key member of the team.
The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of genotyping/methylation microarray processing and other genomic experiments and may be required to assist with other facility projects in the extractions and quality control streams. The position contains a strong element of collaboration and service provision, and a large proportion of the work will involve provision of genomics services for both internal and external users. The postholder will be expected to work closely with a range of collaborators including scientists, clinicians, industry professionals, service facility providers and PIs as well as other facility staff to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner.
