Job Description

At Etex, we seek to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our customers and our communities. Are you looking for a company where you can learn, grow & lead? Join us as aManufacturing Apprentice in Ferrybridge!

This program is a 2 year apprenticeship through Wakefield College.

Starting salary rate: £7.75/hour

As a Manufacturing Apprentice, youll rotate through departments across our manufacturing site, gaining a well-rounded understanding of our operations while studying towards an NVQ in Lean Manufacturing Operations.

What Youll Do


* Follow all health, safety, and environmental compliance procedures, promoting a safety-first mindset.
* Rotate through different departments to build a broad understanding of manufacturing operations.
* Maintain an apprentice journal to document key learnings and development areas.
* Support with quality testing of materials and products, ensuring they meet internal and external standards.
* Record data accurately in line with operational and quality procedures.
* Contribute to continuous improvement through problem-solving and root cause analysis.
* Support Autonomous Maintenance by carrying out basic equipment care (CILT: Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Tighten).
* Perform visual inspections and help identify equipment reliability issues.
* Minimise waste, support recycling efforts, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
* Study and complete all apprenticeship coursework, assessments, and qualifications on time.

* GCSEs or A levels at C or above in Maths and English.
* A genuine interest in manufacturing and continuous improvement.
* Ability to work both independently and in a team with good communication and organisational skills.
* Proactive, flexible, and adaptable.
