Overview
SF Executive partners with a private equity backed manufacturing business to head Commercial Finance (HCF). The HCF reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and has a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role requires agility, resilience, strict analytical focus, profitable growth orientation, and leading a lean, high‑performing team.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for the commercial financial strategy, supporting the CCO in financial value creation.
* Oversee weekly and monthly operational financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and action‑orientation.
* Design, implement and continuously improve reporting systems across the business, delivering timely, actionable insights to stakeholders.
* Lead the commercial budget and forecasting process, covering sales, trade promotions, gross margins and marketing spend.
* Partner with Group Financial Control to monitor key commercial finance controls, providing assurance that internal controls are fit for purpose.
* Partner with the commercial organisation, supporting and constructively challenging commercial decisions.
* Support commercial negotiations, providing data‑driven scenario analysis.
* Perform ROI and payback analysis to drive constant value creation.
* Interpret margin drivers, advising stakeholders on margin variances and capitalising on margin trends.
* Collaborate with the Head of Shared Service to drive working capital improvements, especially debtor management.
* Advise on broader process improvements within commercial finance functions.
Qualifications
* Qualified ACA/ACCA/ACMA and experienced finance lead.
* Manufacturing finance experience, ideally with exposure to private equity backed business pace.
