We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the Digital Industries Department at Leeds City College, based at Printworks Campus, as Deputy Head of Department. The successful candidate will lead curriculum development and delivery, monitor and report on KPIs, and promote high standards across our Digital curriculum.
This role is pivotal in developing the Digital Industries Department. You will support the department in its journey to achieve outstanding practices across all areas. The department caters to 16+ study programme students, apprentices, and part-time adult learners, delivering qualifications supporting the thriving Digital industry in West Yorkshire, especially Leeds.
You will support the Head of Department strategically and ensure operational quality within the team.
What You Will Do
* Work closely with the Head of Digital Industries, demonstrating dynamic and inspirational leadership focused on successful outcomes and aspirational targets.
* Support strategic curriculum planning to meet key priorities, driving the department towards Outstanding status.
* Oversee and manage the team to ensure robust practices in teaching and assessment.
* Foster a culture of excellence and develop the team through industry-standard CPD.
* Ensure compliance with awarding body standards and implement strong processes to support learners in achieving their best.
* Support and drive the department to demonstrate sustainable and positive results across all areas of the EIF.
About You
* Hold a Level 5 Teaching qualification and a Level 4 or above subject specialism.
* Have relevant, up-to-date subject knowledge and recent delivery experience in the Further Education or school sector.
* Possess extensive experience and skills to deliver a range of levels across the curriculum, demonstrating active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
* Ability to lead initiatives to improve retention, achievement, success, and attendance.
* Experience supervising and managing staff to ensure high performance.
