Location: Cambridge, UK (hybrid) with travel to the office twice per week.
As a Procurement Assistant you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Procurement function. This role will provide administrative and transactional support to ensure that procurement processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant. The role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude who is looking to grow within a commercial or procurement environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Raise, amend, and track purchase orders (POs) in the finance/procurement system in line with internal processes – dependent on process mapping output
* Support supplier onboarding, including due diligence, data collection, and system setup
* Maintain and update the central contract and supplier database, ensuring records are accurate and current
* Monitor contract expiry dates and support renewal processes with category managers
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, including accurate documentation and audit trails
* Respond to internal queries regarding PO status, supplier setup, and invoice matching- dependent on process mapping output
* Support the Procurement team with meeting coordination, document preparation, and reporting
* Assist with market research, quote gathering, and administrative tasks for sourcing projects
* Liaise with Finance and Legal teams to support smooth purchase-to-pay (P2P) workflows - dependent on process mapping output
* Help drive continuous improvement in procurement systems and processes
What we're looking for:
* Prior experience in a procurement support role
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
* Experience using procurement or finance systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Coupa, Oracle, etc.)
* Strong communication skills and a helpful, professional approach to internal and external queries
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment and build good working relationships across departments
